Orange County Queer History ***ONLINE COURSE***

HISTORY 12 (4.0 units)Session I

In this course, we will examine Orange County, California’s queer history, paying particular attention to the 1970s-1990s. Students will learn how to think critically and historically by drawing on historical context to analyze primary sources. This course will sharpen students’ critical thinking and analysis skills, as well as help them better understand our current society. By taking a “history from below” approach – focusing on everyday people and their experiences – we will learn more about significant events in local history. Students will also have the opportunity to contribute to a digital humanities project on Orange County Queer History, and have their work published through the nonprofit organization California Queer History. Online Course. Access your online course in MyEEE the week prior to the Session start date.
