Introduction to the theory and practice of numerical computation with an emphasis on solving equations. Solving transcendental equations; linear systems, Gaussian elimination, QR factorization, iterative methods, eigenvalue computation, power method. Corequisite: MATH 105LA. Prerequisite: MATH 3A or MATH H3A. Overlaps with MAE 185.
