Introduction to some of the mathematics used in the making and breaking of codes, with applications to classical ciphers and public key systems. Includes topics from number theory, probability, and abstract algebra. Prerequisite: (MATH 2B or MATH 5B or MATH 7B or AP Calculus BC) and (MATH 3A or MATH H3A) and (MATH 13 or (ICS 6B and ICS 6D)).
